WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR APPOINTMENT

When you meet your practitioner, they will use your medical forms to begin a discussion; carrying out a subjective assessment where you tell us what you need help with.

We listen.

You may be asked to remove some clothing for us to look at your movement. We carry out a thorough physical assessment and let you know what we find.

Together you and your practitioner will discuss and agree a plan towards recovery.

We will give you a bespoke exercise programme tailored to your individual needs, including stretch bands that you may need to get started. We may recommend other equipment such as a shoulder pulley, shoe insoles, exercise equipment, orthopedic pillows.  Some of this equipment is available to order or we can recommend where to buy.

Our aim is that you leave the clinic understanding both the problem and your recovery plan.

FAQs

Wear something comfortable and definitely wear underwear! Be prepared to undress if you are willing as the more we can see of you the better we can assess, we will protect your modesty at all times. For example bring shorts for a knee or lower limb injury.

If we have sent you forms to complete it saves time at your assessment if you can bring them with you. Any previous investigation results such as x-rays/scans are helpful but not essential. If you are a sports person or runner it may help if you bring e.g running shoes.

There are so many changes with health insurance providers that we ask you to pay for your treatment directly with us and we will provide you with all necessary receipts to reclaim from your insurance company. We highly recommend that you contact your insurance first to see if they will cover you. If you are looking to claim back fees, please let us know at the time of booking your initial appointment as it may affect which practitioner you can see.  Most insurance providers will not cover treatment with Sports Therapists (relevant if booking with Dominic).

In short, no. We are trained to assess you and if we have any concerns we will let you know and liaise with your medical contacts. We can see you right away which minimises delay in your treatment – the earlier you can be seen for physio the better the outcome.

We understand that life is busy and unpredictable, we ask that you give us a minimum of 24 hours notice to amend or cancel any appointment. We send out text and email reminders for all bookings to give you a reminder and we all need to make a living so please respect this. It is unlikely with less than 24 hours’ notice that we will be able to reallocate your appointment and therefore a full charge cancellation fee will be applied.

Please just drop us a text, email or give us a ring if you need to make any changes.

At the moment our preferred method is to email your invoice immediately following your treatment. Payment can be made via BACS with all details provided on your invoice.  However, we do still accept cheques and we also have a card payment facility if needed.
